More Heat From Less Wood™

"The Kimberly [Stove] Stood Out Above All Others...

When researching for a woodstove as I planned to build a tiny house, The Kimberly stood out above all others.  Very low clearances to a combustible surface, so important for a tiny space.  Very efficient heating, reducing need for managing and storing excessive quantities of wood.  Potential for an all night burn even in such a small stove if burning the right fuels.  And, a gorgeous design!  These were the factors I most wanted out of a wood stove.

At a tiny house builder’s workshop in Olympia WA (in about 2016), I met Vanessa.  She had a Kimberly with her for us all to see in person. The quality is unmatched and I ordered the stove.  Building a tiny house was delayed, but I installed The Kimberly in a 490 sq.ft. living space where it kept me toasty warm burning western maple and using old cedar shingles for kindling. I even usually had a few orange coals remaining in the morning.  The Kimberly is so efficient. I love that a cord of wood is plenty for a winter, and I usually have some leftover.

I have since moved to Kentucky, and of course, brought my Kimberly with me.  Vanessa was again so helpful in making sure I had exactly the right chimney components for my new 520 sq.ft. cabin located in windy conditions.  I burn local hardwoods, and find hickory is a great wood for heating.  Again, the Kimberly is heating my cabin efficiently, keeping me so warm, even when the temperatures dip below 0.  Life in the cabin is so cozy with a kettle of water on the stove for hot tea and humidity during dry winter days.  I can even cook on top in a cast iron pan!

I love my Kimberly Wood Stove!

Thank You Unforgettable Fire🔥

"They Exercised Attention And Care, Like If I Was A Well Known Old Friend...

Kimberly is perfectly finished and manufactured product, with excellent appearance and presentation. Feature of first importance is that this wood burning stove is very, very safe with no compromise. In fact the safest and most versatile for confined spaces that I have ever seen. I wouldn’t judge the performance of the stove because could be misleading. There are number of variables important to get the best of the stove and they are unique to every new owner’s operating conditions. One considering that stove should contact the CUSTOMER SUPPORT to discuss those conditions.

The Unforgettable Fire LLC was the most outstanding customer support experience in my entire life. All my questions related to utilizing the product properly were promptly covered by Roger Lehet (the stove designer himself), Vanessa, and Erik [in Canada]. It is hard to put the communication with one of them above another. They are experts and even everyone has busy life, they will make themselves available to familiarize in depth with your situation. They will do that very methodically, spending all the time needed to cover any little detail. No any sign of impatience or rush. I want to put on pedestal my communication with Erik Beck who was my main contact as dealer for Canada. He was accessible literally 24/7 since I contacted him first over 3 months ago.

This feedback is not biased by any relation to those people. They don’t even know me and I am thousands kilometers away. Yet they exercised attention and care, like if I was well known old friend. I would welcome opportunity to meet them some day in person. I would strongly recommend this company and their products to anyone who may consider as heating solution.

"We Are So Totally In Love With Her...

We have been running our wonderful Kimberly for about three weeks now and are so totally in love with her. We are burning the Idaho Energy Logs (compressed logs) and we get a huge burn time and lots of heat from the Kimberly with them, we have also burned cedar and hickory and spruce just to see how it would do. It has been keeping our house toasty warm day and night. I love not having to turn on the forced air furnace as it is costly, noisy and creates a lot of dust. When I am in bed at night its so quiet it took time to get used to cause the forced air made so much noise and the Kimberly once in a while might pop or crackle but that is it. I can see the stove from my bedroom while I am laying in bed and love to see the warm orange glow of the fire at night.

Kimberly has kept our house toasty warm and its been down to 21 degrees the coldest so far, but we have a large house and so far so good, we have not even had to run it on high unless we are first starting a fire from a cold stove. We are thinking on getting the Katydid too and using Katydid in the house and moving the Kimberly to the garage as at this time we also have a oil stove in the garage to heat it. I cannot even tell you how much fuel oil we have saved already using Kimberly and the fire is so nice and warm and dry. If you do have a video of Kimberly inside and out we would love to see it. And thank you for everything, we are satisfied customers. And the peace of mind having the Kimberly to keep us warm and to cook on if the grid goes down is very important to us. Kimberly does a wonderful job for us and made us happy happy happy!

"This Company Really Cares About Their Product And The People That Invest In Them...

In 2014, my wife and I built a 952 sq. ft. log cabin in Alaska, with the idea of having a back-up heat that didn’t take up very much space. Well, when I found the Kimberly wood stove, we knew that’s what we wanted. It has now been one year, and I have to say that we mostly use this stove as our primary heat source; even at temperatures below zero, this little stove conquers the elements. When you get the draft just right, this little stove really puts out some heat. Anything above 20 degrees, we prefer not to let the secondary burn kick in due to it getting too warm in our home.

A special thanks to Unforgettable Fire, LLC dealers for the most outstanding customer service available. Any question or concern I’ve ever brought to their attention was taken very seriously and promptly. This company really cares about their product and the people that invest in them.

"Thank You Once Again For Your Excellent Product And Customer Support...

I wanted to write you about the Kimberly Stove I purchased from you last February.  Being new to wood burning I was not really sure what to expect, nor how to install it. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy the installation was, and even more impressed by your knowledge of this product when it came to troubleshooting, when the chimney system was not working properly.

To be quite honest, I had some moments of worry when I fired up the stove for the first time with all my buddies, and my wife present. As you know it was hard to get going, and at first put out very little heat, sort of embarrassing, even my wife was asking why I had spent the money for this unit. However one phone call to you, and the simple fix you suggested brought the stoves performance directly to what you had said it would do.

You may remember that I was using a very inefficient propane heater which was very expensive to run in my man cave, the Kimberly runs forever on a small amount of fuel, and belts out the heat. I also took notice of the dry heat compared to propane, I could not imagine how much moisture would accumulate on a boat with the propane, but the Kimberly dries out the air quite nicely, important in our wet and cold winters here in Seattle.

Thank you once again for your excellent product and customer support, that also is uncommon in today’s business world.

"The Kimberly Stove Exceeded Any And All Expectations That I Had...

My husband drove to Oregon, where Roger was doing a show with the Kimberly Stove, to pick up our stove. I told him as he was leaving, “If the stove is not good quality, don’t pay the money, get back in the car and come home”. He got the stove, brought it home, and I have to say that The Kimberly Stove exceeded any and all expectations I had. I am blown away by the quality of The Kimberly. This is the BEST investment we have EVER made! I would advise anyone to do whatever you have to do to get The Kimberly stove in your home! This stove could literally save your life and the lives of your family.

"The Best Part Is That Everything You Promised Was Even Better Than I Expected...

That little stove meets all of my personal requirements for smallness, efficiency, portability, comfort and reliability. It was still warm for hours after you left. Admittedly, I had some moments of apprehension when it came to purchase with full payment in advance, and I had to wait for a few technical issues in getting my order shipped, but all in all I am very glad I chose Kimberly Stove over other options.

Your service and communication has been very good, you answered questions in a timely and knowledgeable fashion, and the best part is that everything you promised was even better than I expected.

"We Looked At Models From All Over The World, But Just Kept Coming Back To The Kimberly...

When we were looking for a wood stove to put in our tiny cabin on wheels, we did a LOT of research. We looked at models from all over the world, but just kept coming back to the Kimberly. The small clearance distances were very appealing to us as we were placing the stove into a room that is less than 8 feet wide. Not to mention that the stove is a beautiful addition to our cabin. It keeps our 200 sq ft mighty toasty, even on a sub-zero night in the Wisconsin north woods. We were also really happy to purchase a product designed and manufactured in the USA.

Really, meeting with Vanessa at a trade show is what really sealed the deal for us. She’s warm and friendly and is committed to keeping her customers happy. Vanessa and Roger (the inventor of the stove) were available before, during, and after the install to answer any questions we had – even when we were wondering if we were starting the fire correctly, even on New Year’s Day! How many products have customer support provided by the inventor himself? Not many. Both Roger and Vanessa keep in contact with us to be sure that we are happy with the product.

"I’m really pleased and excited about my little Kimberly.

I bought this little wood stove [Kimberly] back in June/July 2015. I bought some of the new stove pipe you now offer, just when it came available. It’s very nice… It was really very easy to do the installation. Very simple and straight forward. The first fire was a little tough to get going. But true to your word, once it did get going there was absolutely no smoke. Each fire since has been a breeze to start. I’m really pleased and excited about my little Kimberly. I’ve been telling everyone about it.

"This Stove Looks Like It Was Never Missing [From Our Tiny Home]...

We were lucky to have Vanessa Kelly, our dealer, help out with our installation and Kimberly’s inventor, Roger Lehet on the phone to get all our questions answered. After a few hitches and a custom chimney pass through the roof, this stove looks like it was never missing.

"The Dealer From Whom I Bought The Stove Has Gone Over The Top In Helping Me...

I’ve been using my Kimberly wood stove every winter since I moved in, and I’ll be honest in saying it hasn’t been an easy road to loving it as I do now. A very large part of the problem (maybe all of it) was that I bought any-old-pellet-stove-pipe locally rather than the brand that Unforgettable Fire recommended, and it turns out that it’s not sealed as well as it needs to be for the stove to burn super efficiently.

The dealer from whom I bought the stove, Vanessa, has gone over the top in helping me troubleshoot via detailed emails, phone calls, and even a trip to Wisconsin to spend a long afternoon doing everything she could to “upgrade” the seals on the stove itself (mine was an earlier iteration) and check my installation (with live phone advice from Roger, the stove’s inventor and CEO of Unforgettable Fire). She also convinced me that I needed to replace the chimney pipe, which I did in 2018, and the stove worked like a champ last winter.

I’ve also learned to use compressed sawdust logs when I want a long overnight burn, and with that I can wake up to coals 8 hours after I fed the stove before bed. Plus, it’s still so damn charming, especially with my custom metal hearth pad…

"So You Get A 38% Cost Savings With Kimberly Over Natural Gas Or Propane, Based On My Analysis...

I’ve been able to analyze my situation in terms of the heat capacity and costs of operating the Kimberly™ stove. I’ve had a chance to use the stove all day, about 12 to 15 hours/day for 3 days now. I don’t attend the stove from about 10pm to about 7am. I can say that the house can stay @ 70F all day that I use the stove. The outside temperatures have been between 37F to 40F, the winds varying from 0mph up to 30mph. My house area is about 1300ft2. Today, I’ve had the upstairs open, which adds another 300ft2. So my situation substantiates your claims.

When lighting the fire for the first time, I’ve developed, what I think is a great technique. I set a bed of pellets a little below the door. I then put a firestarter so that it sits against the grate and is partially submerged in the pellets. I place the brick (or log) so that it sits on the pellets and on the starter so there is a little air gap between the pellets and the brick. The pellets start to burn real quickly (probably because there is a lot of air between them). I’ve got a good fire in less than 5 min. I only use the pellets to get a fire going. It causes too many complications to try to heat with them.

I’ve been tracking my propane usage. It works out to 2.9 gals per day of propane for the month of January vs about 10 bricks/day at a cost of $0.50/brick. A gallon of propane costs about $2.50/gal, depending when you buy. Comparing costs:

Propane – $2.50/gal x 2.9 gal/day=$7.25/dayKimberly – $0.50/brick x 9 brick/day =$4.50/day (based on 2.75hrs/brick/x 24hrs. A brick weighs 3.5lbs so presto logs would result in 31.5lbs/day)

So you get a 38% cost savings with Kimberly over natural gas or propane, based on my analysis. You just can’t keep a good engineer down. Our home is fairly well insulated for it’s 11 years old.
